Sore shins

Let me start by saying that I'm not soliciting medical advice. If the general consensus is that I should visit a GP, I'll do it. I'm just looking for feedback based on the collective experience of the forum before I shell out €50+ and in all likelihood get told to rest for a few weeks.

I'm getting a pain about half way up my shins when I run. Later, the area feels like it's bruised, at least to the touch. There's no visible swelling or discolouration. Sometimes I can also feel it on the inside of a leg as well, same altitude though, about half way between ankle and knee. It comes and goes and doesn't affect me when climbing a hill.

Has anyone ever had something similar before? Are there any exercises that anyone would recommend?

Sorry, you're looking for a diagnosis based on the symptoms you've entered above. That's against the charter- what works for one person might damage you further, so you need to see a professional to get a proper diagnosis.
