Say I register a business name with the CRO and then do not trade at all but after some time want to then deleted the name, what do I do?

If I were you I'd contact the CRO, they should know the answer.

You fill out a ceasation of business form off their website and submit it.

Just be careful that you are talking about a "Business Name".

If it's a Limited company that you have set up with the CRO, then it's a fair bit more complicated and expensive to stop it, and can be very expensive if you just ignore it!

I know you did say "business name", but I'm just clarifying as many people don't realise that there is a difference.
