Getting back into Golf

I used to play a bit but haven't for i'd say 10 years. Had my clubs stolen from the shed and also dislocated my shoulders which put me out of action and I just fell out of the habit.

I'm in my late twenties now and looking to get back into it. Was looking to start slow, just head out to driving ranges and hit a few balls and build it up from there.

Does anyone know of driving ranges in Dublin where they can give you the use of clubs too? I remember Spawell used to have clubs but not sure if they do any more, it's years since I was there

I'm a lefty so can't really borrow any of my friends clubs and don't want to shell out for a driver or other clubs until I see if my shoulders will let me swing properly.

Can't help you there JonnyF but if you're serious about getting back into the game then buying a set of irons should be the first thing on your list. You could pick up a decent set for around €100.

This way you're getting used to the same set every time you play rather than loaners all the time.

    Good luck with it.

Funnily, I played with an ex Rugby player last week who also broke both shoulders. He had no real back swing but boy could he hit it some distance around 230 to 250 each drive. So I think if you take it easy you should be ok.
Don't look for too much to soon and let the Muscles develop slowly.
Good look and enjoy the game.
