Has Anyone Noticed This Cheeky Advertising Campaign!

So I was walking around town the other day with my StreetPass. My route took me past 4/5 stores that sell video games, a handful of which have display models of the 3DS for people to try in store and what not, that operate almost every day.

Anyway, point is, I have found myself getting "hits" from these stores. If it's not a staff member, it will be the display console, which simply has a message like "I'm Store X and I'm the Best" and then tells me that they've been playing the Demo version of Pilotwings or Street Fighter 4 the most - which I know is bull****

So I'm just wondering has this happened to you? Are stores using their display model 3DS to advertise themselves to you?

I don't see why they shouldn't to be honest.
If I was in charge of any game store, I'd sure as hell have a 3DS in the window for the following reasons:

    1) Lets you have an idea of how many systems pass by or go into your store
    2) Lets you know what people are buying/playing so you can manage stock
    3) If someone gets a streetpass hit from your store, they're more likely to come back so that their streetpass quest Mii gets even stronger each time.

I had one in the gamestop in Carlow a while back and I was happy to see the little flashing light. Went into the one in Naas yesterday and there was nothing - felt a bit down that I didn't get a light that time.

Demo machine in Gamestop in Stephen's Green SC has streetpass on. Got a hit from "Kev" from the UK who recently played SSFIV Demo.

Do you reckon that's the store or someone from Nintendo who did that before the machine was sent to the branch?

Went into the one in Naas again and they have one there now - got a hit from "Liv" (from the UK also) and who had "played" the demo SF4 one.
She only had one hit in her plaza so I'm guessing I was that one.

"fhtru" in the Carlow one had 13 peeps in their plaza last time I was there though and they seemed to be someone in the store itself - the mii looked like a guy behind the counter and had been playing the Raving Rabbits game.

HMV are now offering a 10% discount on 3DS games if you collect their store Mii using Streetpass:
