Zanussi V Whirlpool

It seems that the zanussi has a 5 yr parts garauntee while the whirlpool has 2yrs parts and labour, whirlpool used to do 8yrs parts check out with the shop what applies. Personally I would go with the one with the longest parts garrauntee, but find out what the call out charge is for the engineer after the first year as this can vary. Also you would be better off with the 1200 spin rather than the 1000 spin, really makes a difference when getting the clothes dry.

Most parts only warranties come with a fixed labour charge that really rips you off, and quite often the fault ends up not requiring parts and you still get the sting for labour, saying that i wouldn't touch Whirlpool, total crap, and the Zanussi has a quick wash programe, always handy.

    Zanussi for me.

Zanussi out of the 2 because of the long parts only warranty. We have had zanussi in the past and they were fine. Always sold them with the house. If I could afford 100 euro extra on the Bosch although only a 2 year warranty. We have a bosch machine 1200 spin and so far it's been great. About 14 months old. Only go for minimum of 1200 spin.

    Stove Fan:)

Run away from that particular Zannusi model - it is one of there new Chinese built variety - it will break your heart in the long run - you can get them as low as 239 euros but they absolute rubbish

The whirlpool is the better of the two - problem is very few engineers can fix them because they don't know how to read the fault codes so write them off after they take a call out charge from you -

beko and hotpoint would be better than that zanussi also -
If you could stretch to the Bosch you wouldn't regret it

have a look at the samsung machine for 289 - they are a well built machine with great features

Really? If true, that is a bad move by Bosch IMO.

Beko have always been made in Turkey. I've never had any fault with their fridge.
Lots of appliances made in different parts of Europe doesn't mean much, it usually depends on the brand more than anything. Though the Chinese appliances aren't up to much.

Also, Ford Transit vans are made/assembled in Turkey.

Explains why Transit vans have such poor bodies so!

    INDESIT WASHING MACHINE
    1200 Spin Speed
    7kg Capacity
    Led Digital Display
A Energy Rating A Wash B Spin Rating

    WIXXE127 €279.95

Indesit own Hotpoint but their washing machines are usually cheaper.

I would buy LG direct drive motor with 10 year warranty.

The basics, like the 5kg 1000rpm and 6kg 1200rpm machines spring to mind, though I don't know the models offhand. Opening the door, and looking at the sticker with the serial no. etc. should tell you if it was made in China/PRC.

I have no experience of Whirlpool but I have a Zanussi washing machine and while it is excellent when working properly, it breaks down on average once a year. Maybe I am just unlucky, but I would never by Zanussi again...

In the 60s anything made in Japan was rubbish, then along came Toyota Datsun/nissan Mitsubishi. Hitachi ! Maybe its Chinas time ? Most of high tech products (i phones ) are now made in china. Heres hoping:P

I don't know anything about Whirlpool, but would recommend that anyone considering an appliance stay away from Zanussi. I agree with a previous poster - my zanussi washing machine breaks down on average once a year!

In my experience 90%+ of service calls i do on washing machines can be put down to customer misuse or bad installation, you can't blame a manufacturer if you leave coins in your pockets or the plumbing aint right.
