Hi,

I checked my bank account this morning to find a random payment made today which I presume is my maternity benefit payment.

I was wondering what way is this paid? I am entitled to €217.80 on maternity benefit and am due to start on 7th June. The payment I received today is only for €180.50.

I was wondering why did I only get €180.50? Why did I get it before I am due to start maternity benefit? Is it paid a week in advance? Was I deducted for the Bank Holiday?

yes, you are being paid a week in advance and yes you are being deducted for the public holiday on monday, as your employer will be obliged to pay you for the public holiday when you return to work. good luck with your new baby!
