At least I haven't been drinking heavily.

So, AHers, atheists included, how would you normally finish that sentence?

    I'm going to go with....

... I still have my keys.

    I say 'thank f*ck'.

As in, 'thank f*ck; it turns out she didn't have gonorrhoea after all'.

    Spot on.

Keep on daringly flouting the mores of oppressive convention.

I wish I was cool enough to denounce God on every thread on AH. :(

    Well, thanks be to God...
    ...nobody was seriously hurt.

Think I picked it up from older family members because I only seem to say it around them. Usually I'd say "Thank f**k..."

He burned his face off and lost his arms and legs in a big accident.

But thanks be to god, it could have been worse.

    Just a tick.........................................................

    Nope. Quite rare actually.
    Feeling oppressed?

I always finish that sentence with...."he has his health", when yet another of my smug married friends shows me their ugly baby.

    Don't worry, you'll get there eventually!

Although, how can one denounce a non-existent entity?!

    Thank God...they're not pressing charges.

Until the cows not only come home, but until they have their tea and go to bed, it would seem.

Ah, but surely it's not the non-existent deity that's being denounced, but rather the idea of such a deity? Ooooh, way too deep for a Friday morn in AH! :P

I barely believe in God and don't follow any organized religion. Funnily enough though I have the self belief in my own beliefs to not question and put down others who believe differently at every opportunity. A few more around here could try the same thing.

I've always used it at the end of the following sentence:

I'm an atheist, thanks be to God.
