Im considering buying tickets or whats left of them for Ireland versus England and France in August as they will be the last games before World Cup in NZ. Do people think they are worth going to?

Im going to the England game. Be worth it me thinks

I definitely think these matches will be worth going to. Myself and a few friends already have tickets for the English match and not surprisingly, there aren't that many seats left.

warm sunny august day*, a pint**, watching some rugby

    what more do you want?

    *warm sunny day not gauranteed

**being allowed to bringa pint to your seat depends on where you are siting

Definitly worth considering. The games should be pretty competitve as well with the world cup around the corner. Players will (hopefully) be upping their games trying to get into the starting XV for NZ.

For the HEC semi-final they were allowing people in upper tiers bring pints to their seats. One of the stewards said that they were doing it on a trial basis for that match. Dunno what the outcome of it was but it's quite possible that for the Summer Series folks in the upper tiers will be allowed to enjoy a pint in their seats

I'm going to both French and the English matches.
The Tickets for the series were so reasonable, it allows me to afford for both games!

i sat in 514 (south upper) row C for the leicester game.

a fella in row A deciding that his his row was too crowded to walk along decided to hop over from B to A. he clipped his feet on the way. i still remember shouting for someone to catch him. thank god or whoever but he got lucky to not go over the rails.

in summary beer is ok (you were'nt allowed to bring a drink to your seat) but stupids are not allowed on the upper level. they ruin it for everyone

Can anyone tell me if any of the games for the summer series will be on TV?

Is the €4 (10%!!) handling fee the standard rate of shafting or more then usual?

Sounds about right. I got 2 tickets each for France and England and handling fee was €16.

thanks! €4 handling fee is such a rip. Unfortunately English tickets were snapped up only limited ones left in the corner so French game it is!

Corner seat should be okay. You'd still get a good view and will have the big screens if you miss anything (says he hopefully having bought tickets in the corner...)

Best I could get for French game was block 523 and pretty high up. Maybe I should have listened to the warning about fear of heights do not buy these tickets! Couldnt afford the €40 and €50 tickets so choice was pretty restricted. Just hope our view wont be impaired by the white bars off the top of the stadium.

They won't impair your view of the pitch but you may struggle to see a big screen.

^ is a great little webpage for when youre buying tickets. It doesnt have 523 at the moment but hopefully more people will become aware of it and add photos.

durkadurka is right. You'll have a great view of the pitch but probably won't see anything of either big screen. I've been there and it's great except for the screen.

That website is an absolutely great idea.

Seating plan map for Aviva is not entirely accurate as a more in-depth and detailed version has been released since.

Cheers for the plug and good feedback lads. Myself and a few mates started seatpic.com late last year.

I'm mindful not to hijack the thread but if anyone wants to chip in with some photos or suggestions to make the site more useful that would be great.

JustinDee - thanks for the heads up on the changed aviva seat plan. I must update that.

Excuse my ignorance and I know its probably not in your job discription but could you answer the following q for me:

I've both 4 tickets for the east upper, am I correct in assuming that the 4 seats will be together/beside each other?

If bought in same order nr then yes, should be all together.
If a seperate order, email ticketqueries@irfu.ie and ask ticketing dept if they can allocate together.

Would definitely recommend email to irfu to check. Bought tickets together for HC semi & was separated by aisle. Not disastrous if all adults but the da in front of me who had to share a seat with his kids was pretty uncomfortable

Cheers bought them all together but might fire off an email just in case

Seatpic is unreal thanks a lot because ticketmaster map is good but I hadnt a clue what the view would be like.

I did a quick search just out of interest and more tickets for England match are coming up for the €10-€30 bracket so the two games it is so!

By the way might be a silly question but any way we could be surrounded by english fans or are they allocated their own tickets?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 285 ✭✭littleman
