Brush up on your genres and sub genres with Ishkur's guide to Electronic Music...

    http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/

Disclaimer (from Wikipedia) "The disclaimer for the guide openly admits that the guide is "a non-technical, irreverent critique of electronic dance music. Its purpose is to entertain before it informs." and that "several biases here are celebrated lavishly".

Which means that you won't agree with everything he says but you'll get a good laugh out of it nonetheless... I think its brilliant. N-joy... :)

saw this years ago when i hadn't a feckin clue (not that much has changed!).

have to say, as far as house and techno goes, it's absolutely 100% spot on.
