After a long absence Dublin Bus All Over Advertising is back, and about time too says I.
There were great ones in the past, hopefully we'll see a fair few examples around.

I came across the below bus on the 45 the other day and was pleasantly surprised

I had read AV397 had it for the past couple of weeks, but those Dbk AVs are hard to find given the orbital routes. Good to see them back.

That's a 04 bus, has it not had that advertising scheme since it was new?

That ad campaign is far newer than 2004.

The bus was kitted out recently by Bravo advertising using vinyls in Donnybrook - apparently there are a variety of all over adverts on their way.....

Great to see them back - and that passengers can see out!

It would be interesting to see a Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 Tri-Axle with All Over Advertising.:DMobile billboard!

Except for the back row upstairs by the looks of it. The scangers will be delighted with the extra cover!

I believe that a one Dr. John Lynch was against all over advertising, depriving the company of potentialy huge amounts of cash. Now that his departure is thankfully imminent, it is making a return. He was interested in Corporate Identity.

The problem was in the past that there was indeed too many liveries, you had fleet standard, City Imp, City Swift, Localink, Airlink, Railink, and I'm sure there was a few more.

So, phasing out the seperate brands and just having fleet standard, Air Link and City Tours was probably sensible.

However all over advertising is a different thing and if Lynch has cost the company thousands in revenue because personally he don't like the look of a bus that wasn't in DB livery, then he should taken a one way bus outta of the boardroom years ago.

Walking up talbot street a few weeks ago and saw a bus with a full size ad for a ford mindeo at the back

it must be aimed at the cars behind it but then again if you see your bus pull out or fly past youll see this ad!

Theres one horrible black and grey one floating about that to all intents and purposes looks like its camouflaged.

The one I remember most was a Donnybrook KD in Coca Cola livery. Often saw it in Ballyfermot on the 18.

    Nice to see them back!

Does that include the full height, mid-bus ad for Johnny English that I saw on a Phibsboro VT at lunchtime. Very striking. :)

    Edit: It is VT67 apparently.

I saw that bus too. It also had an advert for Dublin Bus on the side. Split personality buses :)

I've seen that bus around but never knew who is was or where it was going. Is it a passenger service bus or just used for advertising?

They are operated by Alan Martin Coaches / Express Bus on their Parkwest and Ballycoolin services.

    They look horrendous.

Bravo are using Contra Vision TM(one way perforated film) on windows, as most of us in the business use.

This allows the travelling public to see out, but gives a greyish view of life from the inside, and unless you stand right up to the glass on the out side you wont be able to see in, which in turn as you've mentioned gives the cover to skangers.

Bravo announced recently that having been away for five years or so the Colour Bus Plus format comes back, with all round printed vinyl and printed Contra Vision media to windows.

Personally I think so-called "contra-vision" should be banned off the windows of buses, windows are put there for a reason. Anyone who has ever travelled in such monstrosities will know how unpleasant it really is and if the front windows are also covered it's almost impossible to see where you are going or where your stop is. I see they are also appearing as route branding on Bus Eireann coaches, must be a very pleasant long distance journey looking through a load of dots!!!
