I listened to a few of those Anaal Nathrakh tracks in the other thread last night, and after that I need something a little ... nicer! The new Yes album is a reunion of the Drama (1980) lineup, except that Trevor Horn is producing rather than singing, a role filled by new boy Benoit David. The title track originates from that era too, though rearranged and expanded.

Drama and the subsequent tour basically caused Trevor Horn to give up singing and move in to production full time - and he's been at the top of that field for almost 30 years now. Yes' more recent efforts have been unfocused, in dire need of a good producer, so Trevor's involvement is just about the best thing that could happen. I do like Jon "Napoleon" Anderson, but he has held them back since Drama, I think. One for fans of the gentler side of Progressive.

I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

thanks for posting this, been a Yes fan since I was 14 and had been dreading this album but now considering giving it a listen. Regardless of genre I've always rated Steve Howe as one of the finest rock guitarists of all. They were wonderful in the Olympia last time so maybe it's a good time to say Yes :)

I also thought the Olympia show with Benoit David was excellent. Nice to see a sort of revamp of the Yeggles/Bus period. Drama is a great album.

The album is out, and based on what I've heard so far it sounds amazing - lush production, vocal harmonies all over the place. I might get it online e.g. Amazon.

Have ordered it and can't wait. I was a bit sceptical about not having Jon around but David Benoit seems to be doing ok. Drama never was my fave Yes album but we'll see how this pans out.
