cattle grid!

    Hey im looking to get or make a cattle grid does anyone know any place where i can get in material or the cattle grid its self. Price is a big thing btw, current cattle grid is cracked and falling apart. but selling house so not looking for the top of the end sort of thing if i don’t have to!

    couple of years ago looked into getting a new one.
    was told by a manufacturer in no uncertain terms an electric gate would be far cheaper

    so long as electricity is no biggy he is most probably correct.
    but that was for a grid that would of been able to cope with heavy trucks etc.

    ya you got my hopes up there for a min lol, ya it was a truck that killed this cattle grid but im going to stick with a other one. found some on donedeal so may chack them out but after that still had no more look :(

    put in a cattle slat upside down works well seen it done on a lot of farms seems to do the job as well as having none of the rattles of a metal one
    you might get on with a few chips or hairline cracks that might be going cheap, but still up to the job

    Yep a slat upside down works great. Ave one here. Does the job great and no rattle.

    Wish I had heard of this forum before I spent 700e on one two yrs ago (albeit a good one)
