98 Lancer window problem

    Hi,

Quick question for those more knowledgeable on the subject. My 98 Lancer's driver side window winder started to seize in the last few weeks or so, getting stiffer and stiffer to roll the window up and down. Finally today it gave up and had to wind the window back up with a lot of difficulty.

Does anyone in the trade or otherwise know if this will be an expensive thing to fix, or something simple that a good mechanic/garage could do fairly inexpensively?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need a new regulator. Usually between 100-130 Euro, and you'll give a mechanic between 1-2 hours labour to fit it.

Thanks for the reply. Excuse my lack of knowledge but it is a manual window winder, would it use a regulator?

It feels like the cogs(?) in the winder itself are not meshing anymore with the mechanism that raises/lowers the window anymore?
