Robbed? ... did you report the theft to the guards? or did you actually pay the money? If you paid it .. it's not theft, therefore you were not robbed ......... you may have overpaid but unfortunatly there is nothing you can do after the fact.

Lesson here is, get a second price from another garage before going ahead with the work.

What brand and size are the tyres?

Do you know what was serviced? Was it a full service or just oil & oil filter?

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Full service not sure of brand of tyre
Whippet I thought it was obvious I did not call the guards but just for your benefit I did not.

Not saying anythign about the specifics of the OP but whenever someone gives out in an NCT thread and said they should be farmed out to garages liek the MOT and the DOE , getting lists of things that need fixing, that they are only too happy to fix for you for the appropriate fee, is exactly the reason independant test centres are good.

OP, just to give you an idea of some actual costs. As with anything, it's best to shop around. You don't have to get the work done in the DOE garage.

    Ball Joint

    Track Rod End

Parts prices look dead on and to be fair the garage prob used Opel parts from main dealer so prices look about right. The labour looks a bit high, I'm imagining that they charge 50 per hour as that's about the going rate so taking that into accoutrements there was 10 hours labour which does seem high. Jobs like suspension work is not always easy and does take time as there are a few other jobs ie tracking, re centre steering wheel, I'd estimate with a service and all the rest of the work 7 ish hours would be about right.

I would have queried the labour costs but alas it's a bit late now that you've paid.

If the garage is Dublin based you're probably looking at closer to €80ph
