The ozone layer has seen unprecedented damage in the Arctic this winter due to cold weather in the upper atmosphere.

By the end of March, 40% of the ozone in the stratosphere had been destroyed, against a previous record of 30%.

The hole in the Northern Hemisphere affects Scotland and Ireland more than the rest of Europe. This summer especially be careful after the drop in Ozone.
I also noticed the recent large jump in Scottish skin cancer rates. This maybe applicable to Ireland.

in Scotland rates of the cancer were significantly higher than the UK average.

More than two 15-34 year old Scots are diagnosed with skin cancer each week.
Meaning this is a recent thing if the age groups are young!

    Good to know.

Still, it won't stop idiots sitting in beer gardens all day without putting some sunscreen on, and then thinking 'ah sure, the sunburn is grand, it'll turn into a tan'.

1+1 does not always equal 2

OP is connecting two dots...annual scare cancer warning tbh.

    Have a read of this

The prevention is worse than the cause. I would suggest covering up more if you cannot stay in the shade ;)
