Taught by Academy Award nominated and internationally acclaimed filmmaker Scott Hamilton Kennedy, the master class will cover the process of independent documentary production from start to finish. Appropriate for film students, amateur filmmakers or anyone who wants to know how documentaries get made, the course will touch upon the must-have qualities for a successful documentary. Mr. Kennedy will discuss the steps involved in taking an original idea and making it into a successful documentary, including script, funding, pitching ideas, shooting, post-production and distribution. This course is a practical 'how to' one, as well as an illuminating look at Mr. Kennedy's own experiences in conceiving, funding, creating, and selling his own award-winning documentaries. This course is a unique, exciting opportunity not to be missed!

Scott Hamilton Kennedy's debut feature, OT: Our Town, screened and won awards at some of the top festivals in the world and was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination. His second film, The Garden, was nominated for an Academy Award in 2009 for Best Documentary Feature. His new documentary, Fame High, is currently in post-production.
