New IRB Concussion Guidelines

    Couldn't find it posted already so said I'd post it up. The link below has the guidelines set out in relation to player concussion. Quite an interesting read as there are symptoms I hadn't known. Hopefully all coaches looking in will read it in full.

    Most importantly any player who is judged to have received a concussion must leave the field and not return.

    Have to wonder if it will make any difference. I don't like how fast and loose they seem to play with concussions as it is, and there are already medical people present who seem perfectly happy to let it happen.

    Ya its ridiculous how paid professionals will allow a player to get up and play on again. I would hope that referees will be briefed to mandatorily ask the medical team on the field if a concussion was suffered . If yes then player must leave field, if no and reviewed video evidence during(4th official)/after match prove player was concussed then club/medical doctor receive fine/ban.

    Yeah.

    Its gonna need a sea change in attitude.
    I also think a lot of this comes from the NFL thing.
    Which is think is broken thinking.

    But at the same time, they need to treat it very seriously, so I think its a good call from the bit I read.
