got a pair of the nike lunars last week , have wore them around quite a bit and have done two training runs : an easy run and a short interval . When i was doin the intervals , it felt like i had no bounce and my shins and calves were feelin a bit sore. What i wanna ask is do i need to break them in more before mondays race or is this how they are suppose to feel ?

Don't do in a race what you haven't done in training - so personally I would have a few runs in them to check if there are any raised seams etc and wear them around the house a bit.

I would say they are already been broken in now, since you've done two training sessions in them already. I'd personally only use racers on race day or for a track session. Your legs will feel a bit sorer after using them, since racers offer less support but you should have noticed a quicker/lighter foot. I'd wear them on monday.

I don't think you need to break in running shoes at all. Sure, over time the insole will take up the shape of your foot but it's not like buying a pair of new leather boots or a leather bike saddle.

What you do need to do as stated above, is make sure they're not chafing etc, hence the advice to try then for a few miles first.

I do a lot of running in racers - some on the road, some on the grass or trails. If the heels are lower than what you've been using up to now you might find your calves a bit tight for a while.
