    Hey everyone,

I just took a call from a parent whose son is studying engineering for the leaving cert and is seeking urgent grinds over the next 7-10 days.

The exam is in two weeks.

He is based in Dun Laoghaire.

    Can anyone help?

    Please DM me.

    Cheers

I am an engineer and I live out that way but do you have to have done engineering for the LC to give the grinds?

i dont think being an engineer helps with grinds for LC engineering

is there any specific areas that need attention?

Alas I don't know the course content myself but just spoke to the parent and she will find out the areas he is looking for help in.

Here is a link to the 2010 engineering higher level paper which might give you an idea of the paper.

Appreciate the quick response folks regardless of the outcome.

having looked over the 2010 paper I wouldnt have a clue where to start without reviewing the course content.

maybe some mechanical engineers will be able to help

I guess if you looked at the last 10 years of papers you would get a good feel for it.

Interesting to see how much the paper has evolved since I sat it in the 1980s. Not as difficult as I expected.

Yeah, that trend is similar with all subjects. In the 80's you were a brilliant teacher if more than one of your students got an A in their leaving. Now it's not unusual (to be loved by anyone) to have 12 kids in a class getting As.

Ps about your username, you joined this site in 2009. What's the deal? :P that's like me joining a week ago (which I did) and calling myself 2013!

If you can get a list of the topics that they need covered I might be able to help. Did the Leaving Cert. Engineering paper in 2008 (A1 - not bragging, just saying so you know it's not the blind leading the blind) and studying engineering at 3rd level now

    Hey everyone,

    Thanks for all your help.

Have been contacted by an engineer who can give grinds in that topic.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I'd be able to help you out if that doesn't work out. I got an A1 three years ago and am studing Mechanical now. I gave some grinds last year so I know it well and have some experience teaching it.

    Good luck!
