Just about to sync my itunes music and app collection to a second laptop. Just wondering before I do sync my iphone to new laptop...will I lose all my folders that I've set up with all the different apps in them?
And what about playlists? Will I lose those?

I spent alot of time organising folders and playlists so I don't want to lose them if I can help it.

Any help would be great guys.

Do you already have your iTunes library copied over to the new computer, or are you looking for the sync to achieve this?

If you already have it copied, it should just sync everything across as if it was the other computer.

Oh, can I just plug my iphone into the new laptop with nothing on the itunes account and just sync it so that whatever's on the iphone will just be on the new laptop??

You'll be able to transfer purchases (apps, music and video) back to the new laptop, but not anything that wasn't purchased from iTunes. For that you'll either need to manually transfer everything or use an app like Sharepod.

After that, playlists should be preserved. Folder structure is kept as part of the phone backup, which should be created as if it was a new phone.

Ok, well all I want to be able to do while travelling is basically be able to download apps(to itunes on netbook and sync over to iphone) and be able to do a restore if my JB gives me any hassle.

So I think I'll just sync the iphone straight to the netbook and not worry about getting a full copy of my itunes library onto it.

    Thanks for the help dude.
