i am already on RA but moved house, last time i moved i just had to go to CWO and he had everything sorted by the time next rent was due, but this time all forms have to be posted back to rents unit. im already approved so thats not an issue just wondering how long it will take? i have moved into the new house already, i saved up and paid first months rent and deposit as its alot easier when your already living in the house (less hassle with landlords holding a place and all that) and rent is due at the end of the month? has anyone on RA moved recently? how was it sending off the forms? is there anything i should put in with the application, i dont want to miss anything and have it delayed?

any info would be great im worried the RA wont be changed in time

It'll be backdated anyway so dont sweat, Sure you have deposit paid so landlord should be alright about waiting. I reckon it should be sorted in two weeks as your already on R.A.

I know of people who are in the same situation, that when they moved they had to send of forms for to the PO BOX. In some cases one person was waiting over 2 months. There is no set waiting time for these units, depending on your area, they can be contacted by email if you are getting no response on the 1890/1800 number.

Where are you living? There are 2 centralised units dealing with Dublin and surrounding areas. If you are unfortunate to live in Counties Kildare, Wicklow and certain areas of Blanchardstown, the delays are exceptionally long, up to 2 months and that is if you have everything included when you send the application and longer if they have to write back to you to request further documentation.

You should get it backdated, but they do advise people to have the application approved before they move house.

Im in Balbriggan so hopefully it wont take too long, i didnt know about this new way untill i went to see the CWO i assumed it would just transfare over like last time. il just have to tell the letting agent it might take longer, there was some mix ups on the letting agents side of things (i had another post about it!) so id say he will be ok if the RA is a bit late he owes us a favour or two after the stress he caused!!
