whats a labourer making per hour in london at the monent?

    sparky by trade if you haven't guessed and im looking at moving to london for work will do anything really heard theres a bit going on there at the moment just wondering what the money is like

    I have a mate working with the green murphy........... he is clearing 425 for 5 days.doing handy work,ie nothing heavy.
    Think you will find its mostly agencies that supply labour.

    ya that roughly works out about 13 pounds per hour before tax you sure about that?

    thats the rate for a sparky at the moment over there and i was havin a look around the jobsites for the uk and all the labourer jobs are coming in at around 6 pounds per hour 7 or 8 in london

    sadly if that was the case i wouldn't bother im trying to put money together for oz and if it was only 6 or 7 per hour i wouldn't be able to save anything with rent and all over there you would just survive really

    Im 100% certain of his take home pay. he is on the cards with them.

    good stuff so tis worth the trip over alright so thanks alot. tought 6 pounds was a bit of an insult for that type of work

    email some agencies. cant hurt. esp if your semi-skilled laborer (and if a qualified sparks, willing to labour, big big adv)

    My friend is a plasterer and clearing 600 per wk and 720 if he works on SAt!

    having worked on large sites in Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh) for a well known contractor, the agency labourers were treated like **** and paid a pittance (£6 something an hour). was a big surprise for me after moving over from Ireland where the lads would be getting crazy money(better paid than the engineer). Not sure about London, have some friends there working on the Olympics so could ask. Even the skilled lads (chippies and such, weren't on great money, 350 maybe a week) which you would only scrape by on in London.

    Not sure, a very small irish plastering outfit.,,ie. 3 or 4 ppl... I know that they have a labourer from Lithuania who's getting 60 per day but being skilled you should be able to pick up decent money
