HI i was insured on my car paying monthly and then a few monthes in i decided to pay it off in full, so the insurance company said pay all the money and your insured for the 7 monthes that was left.

Anyway 12 months are up and now i want to renew my insurance so i called them and they started saying my insurance was canclled 2 monthes ago because i never paid enought money when i paid it off. Ok they called my saying i owed them 188 euro but i said no way i paid it all off but yet a week before they sent me 88 euro.

So i was driving around ireland with no insurance for 2 months NEVER got any letters of warning that it was cancled. Can they do this to people they said they sent a registered letter i never seen it.

Yet 1month ago they gave me another 22 euro saying they over charged me on my CURRENT PLAN.

Now what if i hit someone walking down the road or i was in a car crash i thought i was insured. The guards wouldnt belive me.

I wouldnt pay them anything...shop around for new insurance quote. My insurance jumped from 600 euro last year to 900 this year. After shopping around got a quote off 123.ie for 400 euro. Similar story with my house insurance.

You need to get this matter sorted either with them or via the insurance ombudsman. No point shopping around when they are putting a gap in your NCB which could kill your discount.

Always insure through a broker. This kind of messing does not happen when a reputable broker is involved.
