Over on the ESB part of Boards Djrichard who works for Airtricity and defended their door to door sales reps of which he is one has stated the following
As of 1st June, tariff options for Airtricity are 14% off electric. Which is the cheapest in the country. If you also have gas, then you can choose 10% off gas and electric, you can also have 15% and 5% off either gas or electric. Its up to you which fuel has the the larger reduction. You don't have to qualify for the discount like you do with Electric Ireland.
This is only part read the rest yourself

A poster replied that Airtricitys business rates went UP today and asked Richie to

    • Could you post the unit cost plus the standing charge for an urban domestic, where the customer is on direct debit and gets an ebill I presume no contract is necessary
    • Could you post the unit cost plus the standing charge for an urban domestic, where the customer is NOT on direct debit and does NOT get an ebill I presume no contract is necessary
    • For dual fuel gas and electric, is a contract mandatory, if so how long is the contract is there a breakage fee and what is it
    • Finally what do Airtricity charge if your direct debit is returned unpaid from the bank
    Ths is Richie reply
I will post an answer tomorrow. All of the new pricing leaflets were delivered today. I wasn't at work as I am way too hungover. Had my first night out in the city centre last night. Went to a nightclub and all drinks were only e2! Amazed!

Firstly anyone know the nightclub where all drinks are €2 a pot:D
Secondly have we seen any advertising about this, not like Airtricity to keep such savings quite. It will be interesting to see what DjRichard produces and what ESB say in reply.
Ps Hope your feeling better Dj;)

Sure Airtricity called around to my house and tried to claim the 10% off electricity, and 13% off gas(or vice versa) totalled to 23% off total. Seems as though they make it as they go along to tie in with their aggressive sales pitch.

To be honest unless Djrichard is a verified rep for Airtricity on boards.ie I'd take anything he says with a pinch of salt and not an official line, infact he could just be a troll or a very misguided employee.

Any employee of ANY company who decides to take it upon themselves to somehow represent the company in an unofficial capacity is quite frankly an idiot and is looking to get themselves sacked, I've seen it happen enough over the years.

However as I've pointed out already he's in no way an official rep on boards so he could just as easily work for another company or simply be a troll.

In short, its not a consumer issue as your complaining about some random boards user, tbh you most likely would have been better off reporting the user instead of posting here.

Djrichard is not a registered official representative of Airtricity on boards. In addition, this is not a specific Consumer Issue.

As suggested by Cabaal, your best course of action is report his post in the ESB forum.
