    Hi

I rec'd a letter from a creditor stating I owe invoices that are 7+ years old, never rec'd any correspondence 'til this year to say they were outstanding would these be classified as statute barred?

Moved from N&F, though I don't know if this comes close to requesting legal advice, which isn't allowed.

You need to talk to your solicitor as there may be other factors involved.

For example, if you had an ongoing business relationship over a period of time and monthly invoice were issued, unless you said you were paying specific invoices, they should be able to assign any payments to the oldest debt. So while you may think you had paid for specific things and you only owe for old things, that may not be the case.
