No my account is still live. Just placed some bets on the internationals there. Better odds than Paddy's.
Hopefully they closed your account due to you giving them a hammering:pac:

It could be as Yardie says, the bookies do close accounts if punters are successful enough as unfair as it seems

Ha got mine done last month. Frustrating enough but take it as a compliment!

Maybe your friends/siblings/parents/partner could open an account for you? ;)

Bookmakers are in the business of making money.

Any accounts that are deemed to be unprofitable (or potentially unprofitable in the long term) will soon be closed or heavily restricted.

Approx how much would you need to be taking off them for them to close an account?

You wouldn't necessarily need to be winning at all to have your account closed or heavily restricted (to the point of your account being effectively closed).

First of all, if you sign up to a site via oddschecker or similar, your account will automatically be flagged up.

If you are constantly only betting with them when they are top industry price, your account will be marked up as a potential arber.

If all your selections are moving shortly after you bet them, your account will be marked up as "hot".

You could realistically find yourself in a situation where you have bet less then 1k, with no returns, yet still have your account closed.

This exactly. I've placed probably 5-10 bets with Stan James over the last month or 2 (and only one about a year before that). Haven't won anything with them and was typically betting 10-40 on horses. Had an e-mail from them today saying they wouldn't give me best price guaranteed and wouldn't be accepting bets from me through their call centre. Went to put 30 euro on a horse @ 10/1 and they would only accept 11 euro I think it was.

If I try to put more on I get "Our automatic risk controls have rejected your bet. Please place your bet via our call centre by calling 08000 35 11 35 (Outside UK 00350 200 44002)
Sorry, your bet couldn't be accepted"
But alas, I can't place calls via their call centre because they won't accept my bets as stated in the e-mail :pac:
