There should only be one type of battery available for your laptop. So voltages shouldn't be a concern. That being said, it's all written on the battery.

    Think that should be 11.1vdc.

    That's completely different.

    The Amilos run @ 19vdc.

My bad. I thought you were asking about batteries and not chargers.

Under the prescribed voltage by a volt or 2 you might get lucky, but overvoltage can pop the motherboard. Particularly the section that routes power to the battery. I.e. It may run fine on the power supply but, not charge the battery.

You'll probably be OK. Some of those cheaper universal power supplies aren't terribly accurate.

Sometimes I use a multimeter to doublecheck if I think it's ropey.

    ;)

By placing the leads of the multimeter on the pin that inserts to the laptop you should read 19vdc.

The description you give is indicitive of the regulator section of the motherboard failing to charge the battery.

This in most cases requires the replacement of the complete motherboard due to the regulator being inbuilt.

    :(

Seems to be between about €60 to €90 if you buy the parts on eBay and do it yourself, I'd highly recommend against it though unless you know what your doing. I'd say double the costs of parts if your looking for someone else to do it. I know a place that will do it for €180 if you want it, but I don't think it would be worth it for that laptop.

new update, its not the motherboard as my bother who has the same laptop tried my battery in his comp, and it didnt work, it must be something wrong with the battery

What would happed if u put 20V into a 19V battery

Instantly, probably nothing, but over time it's highly likely that it would damage it in some way.

It seems like you don't want to say something, why don't you just tell us what you have done or want to do instead of constantly asking what would happen if I did x, y, or z?

i got a universal charger and put it on 20V for my laptop
i got it about a week ago today and was just wanting to know if the correlation means causation or if it is just a coincidence
