Will any old V2 do or is there a slight diiference in shape and size also is there any where I european site I can order one from thats close to 300fps as I cant find any M90 springs and the majority of gearbox's that are instock by taiwan gun are 350+ fps thatnks for looking!:)

Yes any V2 M4/M16 type gearbox will fit but you would need to change both the Air-nozzle & Selector plate to MP5 type for it to work properly

There is nothing major wrong with the CA gearbox shell and I would suggest that it would be cheaper to replace the sh1te CA internals with new parts and when finished you would know that the finished gearbox will be done properly and last for many many thousands of BBs

ah rite well I was hopeing to enlist your services to do exactly that but unfortunately Iam stuck indefinately in Lomberdstown the back arse of no-where but I do have a new set of gears and some other used parts in good condition. Would these remidy the problem Iam having?

just to recap its shorting in the gearbox somewhere and to be honest It didnt sound all that healthy so I just figured a new or revampt gearbox would be the quick easier fix

What you need to replace is the gearset as the Sector gear is made from some form of Pot metal and is sh1te
The standard piston is OK and only needs replacing if it is showing signs of excess wear

I would advise replacing the standard Nylon bushings with metal ones (normally 6mm in the sportsline) and doing a good shim job and replacing the spring guide with a Bearing type

Don't forget to change the trigger. The m4 type doesn't fit the mp5. :)

I know you're rebuilding, but its worth note for others too, that part is changed also.

ah yes forgot about the triger to be honest I never really thought about the triger because I thought it was just a generic piece but looking at the mp5 and the m4 side by side there is a noticeble difference :D
