Christian defeated Mark Henry. After the match, Christian requested to Teddy Long that he be added to the World Heavyweight Title match tonight between Randy Orton and Sheamus. Teddy made Christian the special referee.

Alicia Fox and Tamina beat Kaitlyn and AJ Lee in a rematch.

Cody Rhodes came out and talked about wanting to hurt Daniel Bryan.

Jinder Mahal squashed Yoshi Tatsu. The Great Khali attacked Tatsu after the match.

Another WWE Capitol Punishment promo with Obama.

Ezekiel Jackson beats WWE IC Champion Wade Barrett by count out so he doesn't win the belt. Jackson fights Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel after the match while Barrett walked off.

Segment with Sheamus and Christian. Sheamus is playing nice. Christian isn't falling for it and tells Sheamus he needs to focus on Randy Orton.

Daniel Bryan beat Ted DiBiase with the LaBell Lock. Cody Rhodes came out with paper bags and teamed with DiBiase to beat Bryan down after the match. Sin Cara came out and cleared the ring for the save. Cara's entrance was botched as they hit the special effects and his music too early.

Randy Orton beat Sheamus with the World Title on the line and Christian as special referee. Sheamus knocked Christian down early. At one point Sheamus had Orton pinned but Christian went to selling his arm from Sheamus hitting him. Orton hits a nice RKO on Sheamus for the win. After the match, Christian lays out Orton with the World Title belt to end the show.

Jackson and Barrett is getting stale, they can only put these guys VS each other for so many weeks in a row. Looks like when Jackson wins the belt REAL SOON (Good ol' predictable WWE) Barrett will get 1 rematch and that will end the angle.

Why have Sheamus VS Orton 1 week after the shot was earned? It's pointless! Save it for CP (You people have dirty minds). Or better still Fire Orton Put Christian into a triple threat match at CP.

Poor Sin Cara, botching even when he's not in a match :pac:

    Christian heel turn?!

Another win for Danielson,he's 3-0 now, hopefully he gets a match with Cody at the next PPV!

Besides the whole Corre/Ezekiel Jackson crap I've been enjoying SD! of late, much superior to Raw imo.

    Me too

I wish the IC title was on Cody or Bryan instead of Wade

I thought the tag champs were to appear on both shows

Is Christian a heel now, guess thats a positive.I just hope that he doesn't get beaten by Orton again at Capitol Punishment. Nice to see Bryan pick up another W but I hope they aren't moving on to a Cody vs Sin Cara feud.

One incident doesn't make him a heel. They might say he is now, or they could have him explain why he did and keep him face. Have Orton do something back to him.

    Anyway, this was on Wrestlezone...
Hi, I see you have the 6/3 Smackdown taping results up. I wanted to mention something immediately after Smackdown. It appeared Mark Henry was going to wrestle in a dark match. His music played, he came out to the ring, the ref was in the corner. Everything was all set for a match, except no opponent. It seems WWE played a prank on Mark, leaving him in the ring waiting for someone to come out. He tried to get on a mic, but every mic they gave him kept cutting out. He had some good interaction with the crowd, which at one point chanted for the ref to be the opponent. The ref kept cracking up and started flexing his muscles. After about a half an hour, Hornswaggle's music played, but he didn't come out. Then the Great Khali, but again no appearance. Mr. McMahon's music played and still no one came out. Mark finally gave up and left the ring, high fiving the crowd up the aisle.

    Wow, thats some bad form.

Wonder whats the story behind it?
Surely Wrestlezone will be on its seen, interrogating its sources which cover every square inch of the backstage and locker-room areas.

It's sadly among the most memorable things Mark Henry has done in his 16-year WWE career

Spoiler: WWE Films Segment with Last Season's WWE NXT Winner
    By Marc Middleton
    Jun 2, 2011 - 5:58:25 AM

    - WWE NXT season 4 winner Johnny Curtis appeared in a strange segment at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings in Des Moines, Iowa that left much of the crowd confused, according to one fan in attendance.

Curtis introduced himself and explained that he won NXT last season and was supposed to get a WWE Tag Team Title shot with his Pro R-Truth, but won't be getting it. Curtis said that since he's not getting the title shot, he's going to do what WWE stars do when things don't go their way. He then poured milk over his own head and the floor, apparently a play of the "crying over spilled milk" cliche.

Curtis was last seen at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view as a Lumberjack in The Corre vs. Big Show and Kane match. He picked up his first SmackDown win at this past Tuesday's tapings, defeating Michael McGillicutty in the dark match.

I switched it before it ended it was just cringeworthy.Bryan has another good match he is Mr.Dependable for wwe at the moment. Like Hbk,Styles & Angle he pulls matches out of guys others couldn't dream about having.

The Christian/Orton feud is being booked perfectly. A nice slow build for Christian's heel turn. Plus Sheamus was put over massively in that defeat. All in all, a top main event on a decent show.

Orton has been ace since moving to Smackdown. I much prefer Smackdown to Raw. A good main event feud and some great under and mid card workers. As well as The Greatest Wrestler In The World himself, Bryan Danielson.

Christian's heel turn was a bit underwhelming in crowd reaction.I think the fans find it strange that wwe are turning one of the few guys that gets a great reaction as a face without the need for sound sweetening.

I gotta agree I found Randy pretty dull on Raw and didnt really have too much inclination to watch his matches pre draft but since the draft he has been great and seems to deserve his top spot atm. Also agree that the show has been booked much better and the little things like Sheamus being made look so strong even when he is essentially the 3rd wheel in the feud is refreshing to see.

Randy gets a great reaction from the fans but he is still a tweener more than a full on face and thats what Christian was before attacking Orton so naturally it gets a bit of a muted/unsure crowd reaction. Hopefully though they continue the good slow build and Christian can start getting heat as he explains his actions be that through words or further actions. Dont think Christian is a full on heel yet eiher he is now in Orton country except lands more on the heel side of the coin than Randy after his recent actions. If he goes full on heel it may be after another loss to Orton which sends him and his belief that he can beat him proving he's the best over the edge. Although im not a fan of too many non clean finishes I think him being inadvertantly screwed again might happen too so that if he does have another lose he atleast can be kept not looking too far below Orton.

and that spilled milk thing was umm... i dunno what to say really just I hope Curtis gets a chance to do something better

Apparently she seriously wanted to be a wrestler, which always helps. I read a quote from her saying she nearly starved for 2 months saving to go to a wrestling school.

It wasn't a full-on heel turn, hence the reaction. They seem to be doing it nice and slowly.

Crowd reaction on Smackdown can be weak. Consider fans have to sit through Superstars tapings and NXT taping before smackdown even starts. Half way through Smackdown they are going to have lost the buzz.

Anyway I enjoyed the show, again it was worth the wait and well worth avoiding spoilers.

Sin Cara tagging with Danielson would be a smart move by WWE.

Her character is so annoying though.:(

Anyways I'm not hugely keen on a Christian heel turn the guy for me works best as a face and I don't see him turning into some super draw as a heel.

His TNA heel work was always better than his face work.

This for me was the true return of Captain Charisma. I can't get into babyface Christian at all. I was a huge Peep back in '05 when he was absolute money and when they catastrophically dropped the ball with him. I'm looking forward to seeing 'vintage' Christian hopefully.

Overall I thought this was a good show and I'm enjoying SD even though I think they need 1 or 2 more main event stars.

I was impressed with how they protected Sheamus and it looked to me like they are leaning towards turning him babyface in the near future. I really can't see him lasting a heel past Summerslam as they were trying to be quite humourous with him. Like when he told Christian he didn't want any 'shenanigans' out there, the way he comically protested 'I didn't mean it, fella!' when he collided with Christian in the match and so on. I hope it happens as I want to see how he fares.

The segment with the milk thing was just ricockulous.

    Heel Christian >>> Face Christian.

    Face Sheamus=:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

His TNA work as a heel was good but I have preferred his face run in the E to be honest. The guy understands his role perfectly and thats to be admired especially when you see someone like Jo Mo who has **** all idea how to portray his character.

I don't see much of a benefit really turning him from a business or creatively. Not saying he can't play the part he can and quite well as history has shown. but its not something that's going to make him a million times more enjoyable.

Christian was just starting to get over as a Main event face but then wwe ripped the belt off him like a bunch of immature asshóles. If a babyface is to get over he needs the fans to believe he can win it for them, wwe had Christian lose so much before he left for Tna it took a lot of convincing for fans to have faith that he could win the Big Match, remember the MITB at Mania a few years ago they wanted him to win it so Badly but no they wwe wouldn't let him.
PS Anyone think Orton & Him are doing the exact same storyline meant for him and Edge I think they are anyway.

I hadn't thought about it before but Sheamus was excellent this week. A nice bit of humor, a good match - showing some personality. WWE gave him a good video package to build up the main event.

Overall WWE are doing some very smart, logical tv shows at the moment.

I don't see the problem in how they are booking it. Nothing strikes me as being particularly illogical or bad for business. Watching Christian lose his cherished WHC and slowly turning heel is pretty compelling in my eyes.

Undermining or rendering pointless big moments on PPV the same week is terrible for business.

Much prefer heel Christian to face Christian. He just has the head on him that should be a heel.

That it was such a big moment makes what happened afterwards more important. The story is that Christian only had 5 days as champion, that is an interesting story.

Once titles aren't willy nilly thrown around (which other than the Ziggler nonsense has been the case) it is fine.

Exactly, which is stupid as something that happens on TV should not be more important than something that happens on the PPV. Thus undermining or rendering pointless big moments on PPV, and making people that actually bought it feel ripped off. The story is fine, but the initial execution was terrible.

Once it rarely happens it would be OK.

The move towards being a TV based organisation is something that annoys me too. I have given out about how they render PPVs meaningless. But in this instance, I think it is just about OK given the execution afterwards. It seems like it may be building to a Summerslam climax, which would be OK in my opinion.

I dont mind Christian as heel (anything that helps keep in the WHC title scene on SD is good) but I just cant buy Orton as a face now a face turn for Sheamus could be quite interesting.

Christian has always been a better heel for me.
