The only real similarity is that psychosis can occur in both.

Bi polar is a mood disorder but schizophrenia is not (but mood disorders can occur along side it).

Schizophrenia involves some form of psychosis (delusions, halucinations, disorganised thinking or catatonia) along with negative symptoms like blunted emotions, lack of motivation and a reduced desire to socialise. The psychosis is not dependant on mood like in bipolar.

Bipolar involves depressions and mania which cycle. In each extreme psychosis can occur but it is always associated with mood ( severe mania or depression).

Wikipedia would give a good guide to the differences at a simplistic level.

Hi I would like to ask a question, a person who is suffering from delusions, is it likely that once they come out of an episode that when another episode occurs they will carry on from where they left off in the previous episode?
    Thanks for reading my question.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but if you are concerned about a family member, please talk with your GP or any of the support organisations.

There's lots of information on the web about delusions. If you want guidance as to what sites are reputable, do ask us - but I can't answer your question as it is stated above.
