For motorcycle racing fans like me it's TT fortnight, unfortunately UPC have dropped ITV4, who are showing it, so what are my options? Can I buy a freeview box that plugs into the wall or manually tune it in via the existing mediabox. Im in a rented house so an external dish is not an option but I am technically savvy. Any advice is appreciated.

UPC did not have a choice TV3 had a hissy fit over the rights to ITV content.

Without a dish you can not get ITV 2 3 or 4 I am afraid.

Ive been reading people blaming tv3 for the last few weeks about itv 2, 3 and 4 been taking off upc, but when i read about it they said that a channel provider was the 1 that had a hissy fit over it, surely sky is the channel provider that they are talking about as tv3 are a channel and not a channel provider or am i missing something here???

TV3 are a channel provider as they have two channels, TV3 and 3e.

TV3 buy a lot of the same shows as ITV and have had many court cases against ITV over the years.

    No dish = no TT.

Go to a friends house with a dish?

It is online at all (legally)?

The ITV Player will be showing it. Can't tell if it's working or not as in work.

The ITV Player is restricted to the UK

The ITV player don't work here..It's "Region Blocked".

You'll need to be able to hide,,or change your IP.

Okay, you know the rules about circumventing geo-blocking...

Arrrrggghhh took aday off for Epsom and I think im going to have no outs to see Epsom today because according to the planner BBC2 are showing both racing&tennis and the tennis wont be interupted. Epsom will be under the red button for sky im sure but UPC doesnt have the red button functional. Ch4 arent showing it nor is attheraces!.

Have UPC stated an intention to get interactive. I cant see it coming before getting more channels HD but hopefully its on the cards because the remote control has an interactive button.

The brother is switching from SKY and getting a upc bundle soon and wondered after UPC tv installation can he simultaneously use his sky box to watch his ITV1-4 & free to air channels on the SKY box 'extra channel' section you program in automatically?.
SKY leave the dish and box in place so can they stop the ability to view watching ITV4 etc once your out of contract as in his opinion they are really free to air stations?.

No that is why they are called free air.

He would be better off getting a cheap free to air box as the menus are much more user friendly then the Sky box.

However the Sky box will done fine.

If the box is a HD skybox then the ITV's will have to be tuned in via other channels (see sticky in satellite forum for guide).
If the box isn't a HD box then simply remove the sky card and plug the box out and in again, the free channels are there on the epg, simply set them as favourites and use the blue button to cycle through them. It's a handy solution to have extra channels to complement the UPC lineup.Plus if your UPC service goes down which can happen in certain areas then you have a back up so you won't be stuck with no telly.

There's no sport on so I don't know about that one, check with UPC. We don't drag up a four year old thread to ask though.
