Anyone have any info on this place? I have been on thier website and the golf looks a mix of very nice and very barren?? Is it a good course?

Played there last week. It has the potential to be very good but when I played there the greens were excellent but the bunkers hadn't been raked and were like concrete.

IMO they need to improve the maintenance to make it worth a visit. Currently there's better value out there.

Not sure about the course but my girlfriend spotted a deal on one of those deal websites today for green fee's for 2 for 45e. So if you do a little googling you might find it .

Going slightly off topic - but i played the heritage in Killenard there a few weeks ago and the bunkers were the exact same. I actually had a ball land in one and hop out the sand was that hard. It was impossible to judge a shot out of them. The rest of the place was in mint condition so why not take care of the bunkers as well??

Uninspiring track -(glad I played it though but once is enough). Beautiful clubhouse (hotel now closed apart from weddings I gather). Tree-less course -lovely greens. Worth €25 max for a round but no more. A sad epitaph to the Celtic Tiger.

Yea the treeless course makes me think that a big hitter can have a field day.

I'm availing of the deal spoke of earlier in one of the posts. Can't be too bad.

Agree - Both courses are quire similar, in that there are very few trees, avoiding the bunkers is the key challenge and getting out of them is the second challenge. That's why they should be maintained. Raking the bunkers with the raking machine 2/3 times a week can't cost that much can it?
