Panorama documentary on care home abuse

Is anyone watching the hidden camera documentary on BBC1 right now about abuse in the Winterbourne care home? I honestly feel sick to my stomach watching it. It shows patients with learning disabilities being abused by unqualified 'carers' to an unbelievable extent. Really shocking stuff, I mean HOW pathetic can these people be to get entertainment from abusing people who have no way of defending themselves?

I am so appalled. The doc shows scenes of carers slapping, punching, unecessarily restraining, pouring water on, dragging and sitting on patients. These people should be jailed for what they're doing to these poor people. One carer actually encourages a patient to jump out of a second-storey window for his entertainment.

I'm getting more and more angry the more I watch of this. Sick, pathetic individuals. Anyone else have reactions to this?

I watched it. Shocking isn't even the word.

The entire system, including the regulatory system, seems to be a complete joke. No vetting, no qualification necessary, no anything.

The fact that these locked-in institutions still exist at all was surprising to me. I'm guessing that'll change soon enough..

It was horrendous viewing, but it was such an important documentary to bring it all public.
