You'll have to ring the airline to change it.

Happened with me going to the States.

It can be listed on your passport that you are known by a different name, can't remember where on the form it is. I use that to display my maiden name.

your actual name for proof of identity is Annamary Clifton, should use that instead of mixing things up

Theres a passport thread question thread thingy here.
Maybe you should just just change your name and only use anna in future :p

When you say "old passport", do you mean CURRENT passport, or are you about to apply for a new one?

Ask BMI what their fee is to change the name on the ticket. Never mind that it's the same person, just ask them about changing the name.

If you print out this thread they will just see you have a problem spelling stuff and let you away with it.

You don't need to do anything. When you're boarding just tell the ticket person that the airline made a mistake and when you copped it you rang and they said it was ok.

Are you travelling with an adult?

You can list aliases on your passport. Ring them and scream at them, if they still won't do it, tell them that you're a taxpayer and that you pay their wages. Oh, and the recession is their fault. That usually endears me to the paper pushers.

That'll teach you with messing about with your name, always keep your birth name for important stuff but call yourself what ever you want.

I know of a girl who's name is Kathleen but it's Katie on her passport so it can be done
FYI the passport office put a note in the back page of the passport stating "This person's name was registered at birth as Kathleen Mary ****

The only name you can put on your passport as an observation is the name on your birth cert. Do you you use the name you want to change it to. ie. Is it on your drivers licence, bills etc. If you have two forms of proof of usage dating back two years then you can change the name on your passport. And please don't follow Nevore's advice and shout at the PPO staff, it's stressfull enough in there :)
