I have a couple of English Georgian silver coins that my late grandfather found in some antique furniture (he was a restorer.)

One is a 1758 George II Shilling, and the other a 1787 George III sixpence.

Any idea if they might be worth something? They're in pretty good condition as far as I can tell.

They're not especially rare and won't make you rich - without a picture, it's impossible to say how much they're worth. In F-VF condition, maybe €20-€30 each.

    E.g. I paid €25 for this 1758 shilling:

and a similar amount for a 1787 shilling (not sixpence, but of similar value):

Thanks for that, mine look to be in as good condition as the ones you linked to. I'm not necessarily looking to sell them, but on the other hand they're just sitting here doing nothing and I may as well make something out of them if I can. Is there anywhere locally that'd buy them off me?

I suppose adverts.ie or eBay :) Otherwise, the dealers in George's Arcade
or at the Stampa fair in October. You'd probably do better selling them to a collector rather than to a dealer, of course.
