    Hi all,

I currently work as a web developer and have a 1st class honours in software development. I've been working as a web developer for the last 2 years since I've graduated.

What I currently do is not directly related to my course and I was supposed to move into a software development role within the company I work for but due to financial reasons they said the move wasn't going ahead any time soon after 7 months of waiting.

Do you think I should move on from this position and try get work abroad and develop my career more or stay put?

There's plenty of opportunities for Web developers here if you want to stay in Ireland - contact a specialist recruiter and they'll get you as much info as you need.

People with your skills are badly needed in Ireland at present

That's certainly true but be sure you don't slam the door when you leave.

OP there are plenty of web developer jobs in Ireland, sure we're importing Spanish, Brazilians and Indians because there isn't enough qualified Irish people to fill these roles.

I'm currently recruiting for a .Net developer with 2+ years experience, paying circa €50k- if you have .Net experience then contact me by PM. If its Java you're skilled in then definitely contact me.
