Hey all. My cousin is getting married in August and as she has so much to do, I've offered to help. She's asked me to look around and see if I can find cheap wedding invitations. I've been shopping around online but the cost of wedding invites seems pretty astronomical to me; €100 for 25 wedding invites?!!

Could anyone give me a rough estimate of their own experience of what wedding invitations cost them? I'm trying to get a quote for 135 wedding invitations.

Anyone who pays €100 for 25 invitations is nuts. Have you tried www.vistaprint.ie? I haven't used them myself but I've heard good things about them.

Ranges from approx €2 - €10 per invite. Price comes down depending on number ordered. You can buy your own DIY kits which are less expensive.
Try Lantz.ie , Irish company, big range, good value

135 invites is alot so the cost will probably be high enough for your cousin although it doesnt have to be astronomical! We invited 140 people so ordered 70 invites which worked out very reasonable in the end. We did look into getting our own design printed but it was working out very expensive and too much hassle.

Take a look at www.congratulations.ie, Personally speaking compared to alot of other companies we checked out I found these the cheapest. They were very straight forward to deal with (they are also an Irish company), our invites went out last week and we have been inundated with compliments on them!

I got mine from America but I got caught for tax :( I think mine worked out at about 2.50 each for a DIY set.

We are using pocketfoldinvites, we originally got samples from diyweddingivitations but after getting a sample from pocketfold we thought the the quality was far superior. We are getting a large pocketfold ( 150mm x 150mm), rsvp, additional insert for accomodation details etc., envelopes all fully printed for approx 275 for 100.

We used this girl on Ebay

Worked out at about 70 cent per invite including postage and we are happy with them.

I helped a friend make their own invites. She ordered the stationery off a Dublin based company called Daintree: http://www.daintree.ie/Home/Home_Page/index.html

They send you out kits of various papers and envelopes etc. We did all the printing ourselves from home but you might need to know your way around a computer/printer to get the best out of them.

I thought they really turned out well, as good as any professional ones I've seen. (not sure how expensive they worked out though - and they took us a whole day to do!)

Aww, cheers. :) Those sites are much cheaper than the ones I've been on. Thanks so much everyone for all the advice, you've been a big help and I really appreciate it. :)

Just in case, I just wanted to remind you OP that you don't need an invitation for everyone. So make sure it really is 135 INVITATIONS you need. Most people are in couples, so if it's actually 135 guests then you'll only need about 70 invitations, you know?

Got my invitations on Vistarint. A tip, sign up for them and order something small first and get it delivered - in that delivery will be a coupon for 25 per cent off. You can then use that for the invitations.
