MacDailyNews reporting this, so I'm still a bit wary about iCloud. If it was MacRumors, who only report pretty concrete stuff (by comparison at least) I'd be more inclined to believe it!

Then again, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some cloud-related announcement on Monday. New iPhone, Lion seem like a given. But the cloud part is a big puzzle.

Apple don't have a great history of cloud technology, probably because there's not much they could have made a genuine reliable product out of. MobileMe, the Mail app on iOS, they've always been geared towards native storage compared to, say, Google who would love to be able to keep their files, emails, shoes and kitchenware all in the cloud.

    Predictions thread? Yes please.

It would be fantastic if, while announcing the new iPhone, he held up a copy of Samsung's request to see the next generation of iPhone. "There y'are lads."

Price is going to be a huge thing with iCloud, MobileMe was too expensive for what it was. Maybe they'll incorporate the two at a reasonable price!!

Seems to be a bit of confusion re iCloud

    - Does it store only your iTunes collection in the cloud? or is it a music subscription service like Spotify/we7 ????

    There is a difference!!

No new iPhone until September, so we can scratch that one right off the possible predictions. This event will be mostly OS X and iOS related. I'm looking forward to iCloud.

I just hope iOS 5/iCloud will work with the 3GS.

Hoping for some big updates with iOS 5. Since most say the next generation iPhone won't be announced till September i'm hoping all that time is going towards new features in iOS.
Think Widgets is a big possibility,
    New notification system as well...

    Anything else expected?

Yeah, me too. It will be stupid if it doesn't considering Apple are still selling the 3GS and the next gen iPhone isn't due until September. I don't mind being without a few features as I plan to get the iPhone 5/4S when it arrives, but I hate the thought of being completely left out of a major iOS update. iOS 4 runs perfectly on my 3GS so I see no reason why iOS 5 shouldn't run reasonable fine as well.

Widgets must be due an appearance at this stage. Long overdue.

Would like to see a quick bluetooth/wireless toggle. I mean how difficult is that??

Also, Apple, how about activating that FM radio you've got in the hardware. :p

It's rumoured that iCloud will consist of itself and the Mobile me package.
Also that itunes will basically do a backup of your itunes library onto icloud for you.
Not only that but any low bitrate songs you have will get automatically upgraded to 320kbps....
However piracy is a concern as apart from the songs you've purchased through itunes how will icloud know what songs are legit?

That's the beauty of it. If they are pirated, the record companies are still getting a % of the annual fee for iCloud.

It would be great if they allowed you to download for free, 1 album a month as part of the subscription deal.

I'm more interested in iOS5 than iCloud. iOS4 is looking quite outdated on the iPad at this stage, so would love to see some major changes, and hopefully it will bring some widgets to it.

Apparently iOS 5 will be for iPhone 4 and the 4gs only, apple seems to be going with a two phone cycle for each update, 3GS will most likely miss some of the newer features of iOS5 but get the basic foundation, like iPhone 3G and iOS 4

I sincerely doubt that most of the new features will work on my little 3gs (unfortunately). Sigh, I'll just have to buy the new iPhone in September.

I know there's other companies that provide the service, but I'd love iCloud to be a Time Machine alternative in the cloud.

According to an article on AppleInsider, the music streaming service will be $25/year. That's a very affordable price.

I find AppleInsider to be one of the better Cupertino news sites and don't just print every mad rumour out there.

    Full articles here.

Chances are it will be US only initially. It will probably be a long time coming to our shores.

i just hope its not as bad as that disaster of Ibooks...

The fact that they had to get the Music Labels on board for iCloud would suggest that the rights for each country will have to be negotiated, so will probably be only available in the US for now. But they did pay a nice sum ($25-$50 Million per Label), which is alot for one territory.

No thanks to those horrid licensing bodies here.

Right now we don't really know anything about iCloud other than rumour. It's being announced on Monday, watch the Keynote. If Steve doesn't convince you no one will.

Oh I see, I read some of the rumours months ago but I thought more was known about it as of late. I certainly will watch the Keynote, I loved the one for iPad 2. Mr. Jobs is the man! Thanks for the info! :D
