I recently had to sign back on to receive JA after doing a fas course for 7 months, I was told i would be paid straight away but there was a 5 week delay in getting paid for some reason. During the 5 weeks that I wasn't being paid I got 2 cheques from the welfare officer (€100) & (€14.30), I received a letter to say all the money will be back dated but when I went to collect the money from the post office there was only €188.00 there. I rang the dole office and they told me that they cant back date my money till the Welfare officer confirms how much I received in cheques while I was awaiting payment. So my question is does anyone know how long this usually takes as the woman on the phone simply said ''I don't no'' , any info appreciated
