Interrailing HELP needed

Hi, my friend and I are thinking about going interrailing this July or August and getting the 10 travel days in 22 days interrail ticket. However, we're both fairly broke and both fairly clueless about where to go. We're not bothered about going to capital cities (except amsterdam maybe!) as our aim is to keep costs low. We just want to have as much craic as possible while seeing some nice places and meeting friendly people.
I keep hearing about Lake Bled and Slovenia in general, Croatia and Munich... open to all suggestions!
Thinking about bringing a tent!! Is this a good idea??
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

A good start for keeping the costs low would be to not buy an interrailing ticket. Particularly in the Balkans (which is the cheapest part of Europe btw), single train tickets would be better value for money.

A good, cheap interrail is to do Venice to Athens across the Balkans. There's not a lot of beautiful buildings, museums or english speakers, but there's plenty of beaches and parties.
