Rattle stop?

Would stuff like that not mess with the weight of a driver? Ive never even heard of things like it.

Is it a removable shaft? generally a rattle is just a bit of dirt in the head that can be taken out

don't think it would mess with weight much in fairness as only need a small quantity of it.. the rattle is definitely in the head of the driver unfortunately - have taken the shaft off and the weights and the rattle still there...I brought to a pro shop and they told me that this would be the only way or maybe a bit of silicone... think i'll try that tec7 stuff and see if that will sort it.

    thanks

I had a rattle problem at one time in my R9 superquad and ended up getting the head replaced after a couple of failed attempts at repairing, though it was relatively new at the time of course.

There might be some of this stuff in the club head already, some manufacturers use "rat glue" to add weight to clubheads that don't meet specs.
You could try heating the sole of club a bit to get the glue flowing and it might trap whatever is rattling around.

Failing that you can also get it from the UK here - http://www.gamolagolf.co.uk/acatalog/Golfsmith_Rattle_Stop.html

I've had that issue twice with the R9.
I eventually got the head replaced.
Melting glue and adding glue won't work for long. It lasted a couple of rounds when I did it.
After 2 repairs I got it replaced.
TM should be taking it back though and replacing it.
How long ago did you buy it?

it's about year and a half old... I had registered the head with taylormade when i bought and I have contacted them via their customer service page on the website so I'll wait and see what they say but I'm not holding out much hope... i like the club in fairness and don't want to change it but I don't want to spend 150squid on a new head either! did you fork out for the new head or did the shop replace it?

In my case it happened within a month (even though it was second hand) so it was replaced with a new head.
After a year and a half of use I doubt you will get a free replacement head but you could certainly try.
It's probably a bit of glue that has come unstuck and they may be able to blow it out for you. That might be your cheapest option.

I'm so not with it... it was the R7 version I had (and still have).

I'd still bring it back, 1.5 years is well within the expected usable lifetime of a club.

hi, just a quick update - I got that tec7 silicone/adhesive and put some into 2 weight ports (too much actually) the rattle has stopped but the club has changed so be warned if you are going down that route... The club is much heavier to swing with, no nice ping noise when you hit the ball just a pretty dead thud, ball flight seems to be much lower too not sure why that is? distance is still good especially when you hit the fairway it rolls a long way...
i think my chances of getting a replacement are gone at this stage... just said i'd pass on the info for anyone in the same predicament
