    Hi,

I am trying to find flights from Dublin/Heathrow to Bogota in Colombia. Preferably from the 27th August until the 17th September. I found flights about 3 weeks ago for £517 with Iberia and today they are £806. I couldn't but them at the time because I was trying to confirm my time off of work etc. My question is will they go down again and should I hold off? When I was booking flights to Thailand last year the price on Ethihad never seemed to change much at all.

    Cheers

That's the thing with most airlines, they fix the prices and there isn't a whole lot you can do about it.

On a flight to Milan from Dublin for example, you could have paid €400 for your ticket whilst the guy beside you paid €100 for the very same ticket whilst the girl behind could have paid €600.

I really doubt they will go down in price. I did a bit of searching around and 884 seems to be the cheapest. Lufthansa and Air France are both marginally more expensive.

Unfortunately July and August are usually the most expensive months to travel in no matter where you're going (Family holidays, Student holidays etc. before they return for their studies in September.

You could try wait longer but I would imagine the only way the prices will go is UP.

Dunno if this is any help to you, but statistically, the best time to buy your airline ticket is Wednesday afternoon, 6-8 weeks before departure. However, the way airline pricing works is a lot more complicated than that - being dependant on demand, capacity, season, local conditions and currency/fuel prices.
