    Hi folks,

    Just a quick question. For a house built about 22years could anyone tell me how far away should septic tank be from the house?

    Any help appreciated

    As this was pre SR 6 1991, i think your into county by-laws which could differ between counties. Have you seen a copy of the planning permission conditions?

    It should comply with SR6 1975 - having said that I don't have a copy to check the separation distance.

    Off the top of my head I think the separation distance would have been 10 metres in the old SR6 publications. But here in Donegal the planners and/or EHO's looked for 20 metres ;)

    Best to consult with the local planning office perhaps.
