    Hi

Just wondering if people could advise how they transfer physical hardcopy files between different offices? Eg Solicitors have some system of 'posting' documents ie not An Post Does any such system exist for Accountants? Or do you know how the solicitors system acutally works - or even what it is called. Hope this makes sense and its not a bit off topic but wasnt sure where else to post this :)

Appreciate any suggestions in relation to this.

    Cheers

    Hi

Dont usually transfer an entire file. The incoming accountant/auditor should normally ask for the information that they require to take over an assignment and I would then supply it to them.

    Kind Regards

I think solicitors use something like DX http://www.thedx.ie/

As above we take the bare minimum in from the past accountant.

We have a standard letter to go to the last accountant looking for a shopping list of information. Most practises are fairly quick to get back to you, so there should never be a problem getting the data needed to start a new set of accounts.
