So I decided to do something nice for myself and on a whim I booked myself a pedicure! Then I realised......hmm, I'm not all that sure what exactly a pedicure consists of! I assume some light massaging of the feet, and nail painting?! Anyone care to shed some light? :)

Pedicures can be different depending on the salon you go to.

Does the place where you booked it have a website? You could see what they offer there.

As a beauty therapist I can tell you what a standard one involves.

    - Nail filing and buffing
    - Soak in warm water
    - Cuticle moisturiser application
    - Cuticle remover application
    - Cuticle removal
    - Hard skin removal ( with foot file)
    - Foot and leg massage
    - Nail polish

Some salons do packages for luxury pedicures which include a parrafin wax treatment. Its basically a moisturising treatment where they layer warm scented wax ( similar to candle wax) all over your feet with a small brush, they wrap your feet in tin foil and leave for 10 to 20 minutes. The wax firms and is removed like a glove all at once , you feet feel amazingly soft after this and this can last for a couple of weeks! Hope that helps!! :)
