My Mam got a voucher for Venture Photography as a Christmas present, she rang them last week to book her studio time and explained that she had a voucher, they still requested a credit card for a booking deposit of €50, she gave them the number and all was booked.

Then she got a call from them last Thursday to say that they were going out of business. She asked them about the deposit and they told her that it would be refunded to her card. When she asked about the voucher, she was told that they didn't know what the situation was with vouchers.

Can we get the money back for the voucher??

honestly it's very unlikely you will, you have in effect become one of their creditors, somebody they owe money too

more than likely they will owe money in the form of rent/bank loans/back taxes/wages/creditors & suppliers or any combination of the above

your right at the end of the list of people who will be "fixed up" when the company liquidates and realistically unlikely to ever see the cash back

you should contact somebody like Sheldon photographic in swords as their rates are far more reasonable anyway!

also I'd get your mam to ring her card company and reverse the charge on her card for the booking deposit, don't just trust them (venture) to do it,or say they have done it!

Im no expert but I THINK if your bro bought the voucher with a Credit Card then he can do a charge back as well.
Maybe somebody more up to date can confirm/explain?

You need to find out if the voucher was purchased with a credit card. If so, your brother should contact his credit card provider and ask to initiate a chargeback.

Hi had pics taken with them, but never got around to viewing them. Was trying to organise it today only to find they are closed. So what has happened to all the pics they took? We also had a voucher for €350 euro, but we won it in a raffle or something.

Ive sent an email to their head office, will update here if I hear anything back

We got a voucher for a present of €300. Eventually went down to arrange photos etc at the weekend, only to see that they've closed.
I'm just off the phone to their head office in the UK now, who tell me that the voucher can be used at the studio in Lisburn or refunded through the reciever. Head office is not willing to refund the voucher because the Swords studio was a franchise.. Not happy!
Anyone have any joy with the reciever....I'm not hopeful.

If you know the person who purchased the voucher and they did so via credit card they could try claiming it back on the card

Their UK Site is still up and running although Ireland is removed from their links.
