dodgy insurance companies?

    does anyone know who or where i can call to check if an insurance company is above board? Got a good online quote and i just want to check its not a scam.

    He probably means one that has poor customer care, slow to pay out claims etc.

    they are called 25plus.ie. They seem to be tied in with chartis.

    AFAIK 25plus.ie are all above board, I think they're just brokers though like 123.ie not 100% sure on that though.

    What i meant was, is it a scam do you pay them and they vanish with your money.

    No they don't.

    25plus.ie are a distribution outlet for Chartis, who were formerly AIG.

    Yeah they are kosher.

    i got a good quote of them and took it.

    all seem above board and have all the regulator info on the documents.

    the do a have charge if you ring them up to modify anything on the policy as they want you to do it all online.

    Legit is one thing, but you should also compare the T&Cs of the cover.

    Benefits like road side assist, wind-shield cover, low excess, protected no claims bonus etc can make a more expensive policy the better option sometimes.
