Moving house with rent allowance

    Hi,

I'm getting JSA & rent allowance for myself and my wife in the west of Ireland and we are thinking about moving to Dublin to look for work. I'm just wondering how easy is it to get the rent allowance sorted out up there, just to tide us over for a while when we are job searching? Are there any potential rent allowance problems I'd need to be aware of before moving? We'd be looking at living in dublin 6 or dundrum/stillorgan areas.

Thanks for any help with this.

    Hi Art,

When you are moving to a new area it is basically a new application. Best thing for you to do is send off a load of cvs to as many places as possible, speak with your own cwo, try get in touch with the cwo in the area you want to move to also. I am sure if through sending cvs off and you get an interview for a job you would be in a better position and they may take you more seriously.

Talk to the cwo in the area you plan to move into and you will soon know if any problems will arise. It will all be down to him//her.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a chat with the CWOs before I make any move.
