Hi, Looking for some advise. I recently bought an engine from a breakers yard to have fitted to my car. My mechanic has just called to tell me that the number 4 piston is ruined making the engine useless. The company I bought it off has agreed to replace it but what I need to know is do I have any comeback on them in relation to the labour costs incurred in fitting the engine?

Thats why you always do a leakdown test on a second hand engine before you fit it!
