Hoof Boots for Barefoot Connemara Pony

Hi, I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with different brands/types of hoofboots for barefoot horses. Specifically this is for a connemara pony.

We have one pony who is not shod and we would like to take him to some Le Trec and Long Distrance/Pleasure rides this summer. He does hack out on the roads at the moment but doesn't trot or go out for more than an hour so we would like to find the best kind of boot for him for longer roadwork sessions to enable us to take him to pleasure rides etc.

There is a lot of information out there but I was just wondering if anybody would recommend one particular type of boot or where is the best place to buy them?

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

You'd probably have better luck asking on a barefoot forum as its quite a specialist topic and 'barefoot' isnt that common here as yet.

Are you maintaining the hoof yourselfs at home at the moment? Or is a farrier doing it for you?

    Thanks for both the replies.

The farrier does the pony's feet.

Ok first thing to do before we advise any boot is you must ask your farrier is he doing a "barefoot trim". Its different than just regular rasping If you can give me a little bit of time Ill get more info for you regarding boots and trimming etc.

    Regards,
